Requesting complete check-in data for contact tracing
We all very much hope that this process won't be necessary for any of our venue partners, but should it happen our team is prepared to provide complete and prompt support.
In the event of contact tracing being initiated at your venue:
Simply send a request to covidsafe@bopple.com, including:
- Date(s) for which the check-in data is required
- A copy of the original request from the government/council official you are working with
- Contact email and number for the government/council official
Our Priority Operations team will promptly and securely share the requested check-in data, including full contact information and all data provided with check-ins, directly with the contact tracing agent.
FAQ
Do I need to use Bopple for online ordering to use this feature?
No! Guest check-in is a completely free feature that can be enabled and used without creating an online menu or starting a subscription. Just create your free venue listing, enable guest check-in, download your check-in QR code or poster, and you're good to go!
What will happen with the collected check-in data?
Government authorities have set requirements for the minimum amount of time this data must be stored for, to ensure it is available in the event of a confirmed case. Bopple will securely store this information for a minimum of 28 days and a maximum of 56 days. Once this time period has elapsed, the information will be safely destroyed. Check-in data is stored and managed entirely separately to any user accounts that are created for the purpose of online ordering and payments.
Venue partners can access to a subset of the check-in information (first name, check-in time, expected duration for current check-ins) to monitor attendance at their venue. Complete check-in information (including full names and contact information) can be requested if contact tracing is initiated at your venue, and Bopple will promptly and securely share this information directly with contact tracing agents.
Check-in data will be used solely for monitoring check-ins at the venue, and for mandated contact tracing if initiated by a government agency or official.
What about data protection and security compliance?
Given the services we provide for online ordering and payments, managing this kind of data in a manner that is secure and compliant with all required standards is a core part of our standard systems and processes. We use AWS (Amazon Web Services) - a provider of globally trusted platforms and services, especially when it comes to cybersecurity & privacy concerns - for our data storage and infrastructure. AWS has a proven track record in providing services to financial and educational institutions, healthcare providers and government agencies.
Does the customer have to check-in before viewing my menu?
No, they can skip check-in if they want to view the menu first. They can re-open the check-in form at any time by clicking the Check-in
button on your menu page.
How do I confirm a guest has checked in?
View your Current check-ins report in Venue Manager or Orders Dashboard. Alternatively, request visitors to present their check-in confirmation screen on entry. This summary shows all info provided with their check-in, and can be re-opened by the visitor at any time while their check-in is active by clicking the green Checked in
button, shown on the top of your menu page.
What happens with my check-in QR code if I disable Guest Check-in?
Should you choose to disable guest check-in, any check-in QR codes you have printed and displayed will simply behave as a normal menu QR code. No problems!
Will this work in my branded web ordering app?
Yes! If you are a brand partner and have opted for a branded web experience, a lightly branded version of the check-in flow will be used when a customer scans your check-in QR code.
