Table Ordering is a great way to streamline service within your venue, allowing customers to view, browse and pay for their order without picking up a physical menu, needing to queue, or flag down a staff member.
It is free to turn on as part of your Bopple subscription, to enable:
- Log into Venue Manager
- Go to Order Settings
- Toggle on 'Table Service Orders'
The next step is to generate a table service URL that pre-populates the order type as table delivery, this URL will open the Bopple web app on customers' mobile phones.
Building your table service URL
-
Grab your standard venue menu URL from the sidebar by logging into Venue Manager
It should look like this: https://bopple.app/menu/4954
-
Add the following parameter to the URL:
?order_type=deliver_table
It should look like this: https://bopple.app/menu/4954?order_type=deliver_table
The most efficient deployment of your table service URL is to convert it into a QR Code so customers can use their phone camera to open the link.
Setting Up a QR Code for Table Ordering
Communicate to your customers how they can order from their seat by setting up a QR Code to print onto signage and adhere to tables. This practice is also referred to as Contactless Ordering.
Step-By-Step
-
Copy the URL you generated above for Table Ordering.
-
Open QR Code Monkey or another QR Code Generator.
-
Paste your unique venue table ordering URL into the code generator.
-
Customise your code with your logo or adding your brand colours.
-
Download your QR code and test it with your phone.
-
Use your code! Print on venue signage, loyalty cards, and decals to adhere to tables and windows.
To promote your codes on signage, add simple instructions such as:
Open your camera app and hover your phone over our QR code to view our menu & order
Place a contactless order! Scan this code with your camera app to view our menu & pay
Setting Up Table Number URLs
Additionally, you can set up an individual URL for each table location in the venue by pre-filling the table number for the customer. The extension for this is &table_number=
followed by a number (up to three digits). It should look like this: https://bopple.app/menu/4954?order_type=deliver_table&table_number=12
You can then use each URL to generate a QR Code (same steps as above) for each table around the venue however, this is only recommended when table locations are permanent.
