This article outlines how you can control what types of orders you accept, and the way your customers send you orders. To access this section open the Venue Manager console, click Profile
and then navigate to the FULFILMENT section.
Prep time
The approximate time taken for an order to be prepared for pick-up or dispatch from the time of acceptance.
- Used for estimated wait times when customers view your menu/store listing
- Any changes you make will only impact the wait time shown prior to order submission
- Once you accept an order, the prep/wait time will remain unchanged for the customer, even if you need to make adjustments to your venue prep time.
Using Kounta POS? Your prep time is automatically synced from your site settings in Kounta. Set your default to something reasonable in Order Types in back office. You can then make temporary adjustments via the Online
menu in POS (top right corner). All automatically synced to Bopple in real-time.
Standard order types
- Pick-up: Customers order ahead and collect from your venue.
- Table service: Dine-in customers can order from their table number (QR codes available)
- Delivery: Customers can order ahead for delivery by your staff
Enable whichever services you want to offer at your venue. The order types above have some optional settings within, such as minimum spend (all order types), delivery radius, and custom availability hours (pick-up and delivery only).
These order types are for "on demand" or ASAP ordering as standard. See below for info on enabling and using scheduled ordering at your venue.
Scheduled orders
If you'd like to let customers submit orders in advance, scheduled for pick-up or delivery at a later time, you can enable scheduling on pick-up and delivery.
Orders can only ever be scheduled for pick-up or delivery during your trading hours (or the custom availability hours for the order type, if configured)
Using the Always Online option
By default, new orders can only be submitted during your trading hours. If you'd like to let customers schedule orders at any time, you can enable the Always Online setting. When enabled, new orders can be submitted at any time, but they will need to be scheduled for fulfilment within your hours.
Requiring Advance Notice and allowing Advance Scheduling
These optional settings are available for use if your venue requires a lead time to prepare orders for customers, or if you'd like to allow customers to schedule orders for future dates (rather than just for "later today").
Important: Bopple iOS and Android applications only support scheduled pick-up orders for same day, and delivery orders for ASAP (no scheduling). By setting a Required Notice of 1 day or more, your customers will only be able to submit orders through the web.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the customer see the estimated wait time?
On the web and in the native apps (iOS & Android) the estimated wait time is shown to the customer on the status screen. This screen is what the customer sees once they have submitted their order. At present, wait times are not shown prior to the order being submitted, but this will be added in future updates to the apps.
How are the estimated wait times determined?
For pickup and table service orders, yourDefault Wait (Prep) Time
is used to calculate the estimate. For delivery orders, yourDefault Wait (Prep) Time
and yourEstimated Delivery Time
are combined to determine the estimate shown to the customer.
What happens when I update my wait time values?
The estimated wait time will be updated for all orders, including any new orders submitted and all existing active orders. The apps "poll" for changes to the wait time, along with other order info such as the status, on a regular basis but it can take a minute or two to update for customers.
What is "self-delivery"?
This allows the customer to order to their address, and you or your staff complete the delivery. If you're a Kounta venue in an eligible area you may be able to have a Kounta Delivery Partner carry out deliveries on your behalf. Please see here for more info: kounta.com/products/delivery
Can I add fees to customer orders?

Can I customise my delivery zone?
If a standard radius zone is not sufficient for your location (for example, if expanding your radius would extend your delivery zone across a river you are unable to cross easily), please contact us

Can customers schedule orders for future dates?
Generally, yes! Please note that if you enable Scheduled Orders, this applies to both pickup and delivery (if you have both enabled). If you are using a Kounta Delivery Partner, scheduling will be completely disabled for all order types as their delivery partner does not support scheduling at present.
Can I allow customers to order at any time?
This can be enabled on your venue but it is only supported for customers ordering via the web (not through the iOS or Android apps). Please contact us to have this enabled. Once enabled, customers can submit orders at any time, but they will be required to schedule their order within your actual trading times, therefore Scheduled Orders must be enabled at the same time.
